Our screening promotes health and wellbeing by appropriately targeting assessments in order to identify risks and detect disease early.
ESSENTIAL HEALTH SCREENING
This comprises an assessment of lifestyle, diet, body mass index, blood pressure, urine analysis, visual acuity, formal hearing test and basic lung function test (peak flow) without need for physical examination. This level of assessment is aimed at the younger individual and/or those who consider themselves to be generally fit and healthy.
SELECT HEALTH SCREENING
This supplements essential health screening with blood tests to assess blood count, kidney, thyroid and liver function. Blood testing for diabetes and cholesterol is also included enabling the risk of a cardiovascular event (e.g. stroke or heart attack) to be estimated. An ECG (a trace of the electrical activity of the heart) is performed and the assessment concludes with a physical examination.
ADVANCED HEALTH SCREENING
This level of screening is particularly targeted and supplements the select screening assessment with the following, where indicated: 24hr BP measurement; exercise ECG; spirometry and/or chest X-ray; ovarian cancer screening (CA125 and ultrasound scan); bowel cancer screening (faecal occult blood); AAA screening; breast cancer screening (mammogram) and cervical cancer screening
